The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities meets the Italian Ambassador in Cairo
Organizing a celebration of the 40th anniversary of the saving of the Philae Temple
 Dr. Khaled El-Enany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Ambassador Giampaolo Cantini, the Ambassador of the State of Italy in Cairo, received today at the headquarters of a library in Zamalek to discuss strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism and archaeological work.
During the meeting, they discussed the possibility of organizing a celebration marking the 40th anniversary of the rescue of the Philae Temple in Aswan and printing a book narrating the rescue operation that took place in it.
Means of promoting cultural tourism from Italy to Egypt were also discussed by organizing introductory trips for the major tour operators from Italy, and studying the possibility of launching charter airlines between Italy and both Luxor and Aswan.
The meeting was attended by Counselor Abdel Mohsen Shafi’i, General Supervisor of the Central Department for Public and International Relations at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and Dr. Giusepina Capriotti, Director of the Italian Archeology Center.
