Through the celebration of the International Women's Day, the Egyptian Textile Museum held a celebration entitled "Soft Hands – the Egyptian Women through a Hundred Years" on the 8th of March 2019. The celebration included an exhibition of heritage crafts by twenty women from different regions of Egypt, such as Nubia, Sinai, Oasis, Upper Egypt and Cairo. The event also included a scientific symposium shows the achievements of the Egyptian woman through the past hundred years (1919 - 2019 AD) by Dr Wahad Samir, a member of the National Council for Women in Cairo Governorate. In addition to offering tours for visitors to introduce them to the most important pieces of the museum that shed light on the role of women in Egyptian civilization through history.
