At the invitation of the Tourism and Travel Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce, Eng. Ahmed Youssef, CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board, participated in a webinar through Zoom, in the presence of committee members.
During the event, Eng. Ahmed Youssef gave a detailed presentation of what the Egyptian government and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities have done to support the tourism sector and its workers since the outbreak of the pandemic.
He also indicated that the Ministry has published a number of short promotional films on its social media sites to promote diverse and rich Egyptian tourist destinations, as well as advertising spaces on Egyptian social media platforms and main Arab and international markets exporting tourism to Egypt. In addition to organizing introductory trips for ambassadors and hosting a number of Egyptian, foreign and Arab bloggers and influencers in order to introduce them to the various tourist and archaeological places that the Egypt has and to promote them through their social networking sites.
He also referred to the board’s plan to develop tourism and archaeological awareness among different groups of society.
Eng. Ahmed Youssef also responded to the committee members' inquiries about some of what was mentioned in the presentation. In addition to clarifying a number of points related to the position of the joint campaigns, the opening of new markets, and the opening of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization and the Grand Egyptian Museum.
In conclusion of the event, Eng. Ahmed Youssef stressed the political leadership’s interest in the tourism and antiquities sector, and the government's full support for it by all means.
