in the fringes of the recent visit of the secretary-general of the World Tourism Organisation to Egypt, he expressed his desire to nominate former Minister of Tourism Hawass to be an Egyptian ambassador to the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO).
For his part, Hawass described the choice as a great responsibility, especially at this exceptional time in which the world is suffering amid the coronavirus pandemic, stressing that he must present new and innovative ideas on to surmount the crisis and promote Egyptian tourist destinations in particular, and tourism in the world in general, in order to restore the tourism industry to its prior capacities.
