A complete edifice of the Ptolemaic Temple was unveiled in the western side of Sohag Governorate
The joint Egyptian-German archaeological mission, led by the Supreme Council of Antiquities and the University of Tübingen, has uncovered a complete pylon from a Ptolemaic temple complex in Sohag. The discovery was made during excavation work on the western side of the Great Temple of Atribis in Sohag Governorate.
This finding is particularly significant as it marks the first step in uncovering the remaining elements of the temple. Preliminary studies suggest that the newly discovered structure could rival the size of the iconic Luxor Temple.
