The inauguration of the temporary exhibition “Top of the Pyramid: The Civilization of Ancient Egypt” at the Shanghai National Museum in Shanghai, China. The exhibition has experienced unprecedented public interest, with tickets for the first day selling out, and 250,000 tickets have been sold so far.
The exhibition features 787 artifacts selected from various museums, showcasing the grandeur of ancient Egyptian civilization from its beginnings in the Naqada Period and the early dynastic period to the New Kingdom. It highlights aspects of kingship, daily life, adornment and jewellery, writing, religious beliefs, and the ancient Egyptian afterlife.
