With all precautionary measures taken, and in the context of the Museum of Islamic Art celebrations of the 117th anniversary of its opening, the Museum of Islamic Art in Cairo, in cooperation with the Baron Empain Palace, organized a photographic exhibition entitled: From the Bab al-Khalq to Heliopolis, which was inaugurated today in one of the palace halls in Heliopolis, In the presence of Mrs. Iman Zaidan, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for the Development of Archaeological Sites and Museums and General Supervisor of the Nubia Antiquities Fund, and Mr.Dia Zahran, Vice President of the Islamic, Coptic and Jewish Antiquities Sector, Ms. Heba Hamdy, General Supervisor of Major Museums, and Mr. Dr. Mamdouh Othman, Director General of the Museum of Islamic Art in Cairo, Mrs. Basma Salim, Supervisor of Baron Palace, Professor Walaa El-Din Badawy, General Director of the Manial Palace Museum, and Prof. Dr. Jamal Abdel Rahim, Professor of Archeology and Islamic Arts, Faculty of Archeology, University Cairo.
The exhibition includes 35 photographic masterpieces from the collection of the Museum of Islamic Art in Cairo, which have artistic, historical and cultural links to Baron Empain's palace, the period of its establishment, and the artistic styles that adorn it.
