The start of the operation of new electric cars to transport visitors on the West Bank in Luxor

With the beginning of the new year, Valley of the Kings and Al-Deir Al-Bahari regions on the western bank of Luxor witnessed the start of operating environmentally friendly electric cars to transport visitors within the archaeological area. Within the framework of the keenness of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to use modern technology and activate the basics of sustainable tourism to preserve the environment in archaeological sites.
Dr. Mostafa Waziri, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, explained that this step also comes within the framework of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities’ project to develop visitor services at 30 archaeological sites all over Egypt as a first stage in order to improve and enrich the experience of visitors during their tour in archaeological sites and encouraging them to visit several times.
Mr. Hussein Al-Rifai, Head of the Finance Sector at the Supreme Council of Antiquities, said that 20 electric cars were operated today, 12 of them in Valley of the Kings and 8 in Al-Deir Al-Bahari. Pointing out that these cars were at the entrance gates to the archaeological area during the official visiting hours visitors.
It should be noted that Valley of the Kings and Al-Deir Al-Bahari visitors were received today with flowers and music to celebrate the New Year.
