Today we take you on another tour in the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir to show you one of the most important artifacts on display, the Narmer Palette. This is truly one of the crown jewels of the Egyptian Museum's collection.
Made of green schist, it was discovered in the remains of an Old Kingdom temple complex in Hierakonpolis (modern Kom al-Ahmar) near Edfu, and dates to the beginning of the First Dynasty (c.3100 BC), to the dawn of Egyptian civilization.
