Khaled El-Anany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, witnessed signing of a contract for development and participation in management of sound and light shows and exhibition area in Giza Plateau, between Misr Company for Sound, Light and Tourism Development - one of Holding Companies for Tourism and Hotels of Ministry of Public Business Sector - and Orascom Investment Holding Company. In presence of Mr. Hisham Tawfiq, Minister of Business Sector, Major General Ahmed Rashid, Governor of Giza, and Dr. Zahi Hawass, former Minister of Antiquities.
The signing was also attended by Eng. Naguib Sawiris, Managing Director of Orascom Investment Holding Company, Mrs. Mervat Hataba, Chairman of Board of Directors of Holding Company for Tourism and Hotels, and Eng. Adel Wali, Executive Managing Director of Holding Company for Tourism and Hotels.
The contract was signed by Mr. Mohamed Abdel Aziz, Managing Director of Misr Sound, Light and Tourism Development Company, and Mr. Hesham Gadallah, Chairman and Managing Director of Orascom Pyramids Projects and Head of Development and Engineering Sectors at Orascom Investment Holding Company.
This signing comes within the framework of keenness to improve services provided to visitors to Giza Plateau, including Egyptians and foreign tourists, and to develop sound and light shows using modern technological means while preserving historical content of shows, which contributes to tourism promotion of region.
The project to develop sound and light shows and area designated for display also integrates with efforts made by state to develop and upgrade tourist places, especially Giza Plateau.. This is an important historical landmark to show it properly as it is one of sites registered on UNESCO World Heritage List, and one of the most important seven wonders of world.
