The Prime Minister inaugurated the "Hurghada Antiquities Museum", which is the first archaeological museum in the Red Sea Governorate, in the presence of the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, amid wide local and international media coverage. This comes is in line with the new direction of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to merge culture with leisure, and to highlight the enormous potentials of Egypt and its diversity and the richness of its tourism products that caters to the different interests of tourists and travelers.
The museum contains 2000 artifacts that tell story of Egypt, from the Pharaonic, Greco-Roman, Jewish, to the Christian, Islamic, and Modern eras. The Hurghada Museum is the first museum to be built in partnership with the private sector, and its management is entirely the responsibility of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
