Supreme Council of Antiquities recorded four icons from 19th century in Monastery of Angel Gabriel in Fayoum Governorate, and three Islamic pulpits in Gharbia Governorate, among Islamic, Coptic and Jewish monuments.
Dr. Osama Talaat, Head of Islamic, Coptic and Jewish Antiquities Sector, explained that this recording came after approval of Board of Directors of Supreme Council of Antiquities in accordance with decision of Permanent Committee of Islamic, Coptic and Jewish Antiquities, noting that icons that were recorded depict a number of religious topics, including: Annunciation and life of Jesus and Virgin Mary.
As for pulpits, they are from Al-Adawi Mosque, Al-Mughrabi Mosque, and Ibn Ata Allah Al-Sakandari Mosque. All of them are made of wood and consist of a chest with front door, two feathers topped by a balustrade, a meadow door, and a preacher’s session topped by a canopy facing a dome.
