Discovering tombs, mummies and archaeological finds from the Greek and Roman era in Al-Bahnasa

The Spanish archaeological mission working at the Bahnasa archaeological area in al-Minya Governorate succeeded in uncovering a number of tombs dating back to the Graeco-Roman Periods, various mummies, parts of papyrus inside a clay seal, and stone blocks.
The mission also succeeded in uncovering, for the first time in the Bahnasa region, terracotta statues depicting the goddesses Isis and Aphrodite wearing a floral wreath topped with a crown on their heads.
