Under the title “The Writer and His Tools in Ancient Egypt,” the Tell Basta Museum in Sharkia Governorate is organizing a temporary archaeological exhibition for 10 days, on the sidelines of the celebration of Egyptian Flag Day, which falls on December 21 of each year.
Mr. Ibrahim Hamdi, Director General of the Tell Basta Museum, explained that the exhibition includes four artifacts that include a limestone statue of the god Thoth in the form of a monkey, another statue of the god Thoth from faience in the form of a human with the head of an ibis standing on a rectangular base, and a limestone statue representing A baboon sitting with his hand to his mouth, and a rectangular marble panel bearing ancient Egyptian writing in intaglio, distributed in the shape of a rectangle, with inscription around the rectangle in intaglio.
The exhibition also displays a group of historical and archaeological books that narrate the history of Tell Basta, the important archaeological sites it contains, and the Holy Family Well, in addition to a different number of books that talk about ancient Egyptian history and its effects from the dawn of history until the Islamic eras.
