The linen bandages are wrapped in an elaborate pattern consisting of rhomboid coffers. This style emerged in the Roman Period, when the art of bandaging mummies reached its peak. The head of the mummy is covered with a gilded funerary mask made of cartonnage (a mixture of linen, glue, and plaster). A winged sun disk, symbol of rebirth, adorns the forehead. The eyes and eyebrows are inlaid.
