Lintel depicting Jesus Christ’s entry into Jerusalem

This rectangular lintel is beautifully and intricately decorated with raised relief depicting Jesus Christ’s entry into Jerusalem. This is when He entered the city, humbly riding a donkey, as crowds joyfully received Him. This event is commemorated annually on the seventh Sunday of Lent (the period of fasting between Ash Wednesday and Easter), which is known as Palm Sunday.
